PAT Testing Manchester

PAT Testing Manchester: What is it?
You may have heard the term PAT testing used regarding electrical appliances. But perhaps you are unsure as to what it means. Firstly, the acronym PAT stands for Portable Appliance Testing. That makes it easier to understand in that PAT testing is simply the examination of electrical appliances to ensure they are safe for use.
How regularly the checks take place depends on the appliance itself and the environment in which it’s used. A kettle in a rented flat, for instance, may be used daily and require regular testing. So too might a microwave and a freezer. A lamp in a hotel bedroom might not require as frequent testing as it is used less.
- At Compliance Electrical Group we are NICEIC-approved
- We've been testing electrical goods for two decades
- We test appliances in both residential and commercial premises
PAT testing Manchester: qualified
Only ‘competent’ persons should do the electrical testing, says the Health and Safety Executive. In other words, a person with training and knowledge of the appliances in question. When inspecting and testing an appliance, though, it’s preferred that the tester is also qualified to understand those test results.
At Compliance Group Electrical, we are NICEIC approved. The acronym NICEIC stands for National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting. It also means the work we undertake is compliant with the BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
